All this, plus a visit from County Executive Ken Ulman, highlighted a colorful news conference that helped make the point that Maryland's Preakness celebrations are not confined to Baltimore.

  The winning photo was submitted by Katie Hlubb of Ellicott City, Maryland. Katie offered seven breathtaking photos, some taken at the glow and some early the following morning. This shot was selected by the panel because of the beautiful night sky and the simplicity of the single balloon perfectly centered.
