Turf Valley Receives BBB Award
Baltimore, MD - September 30, 2009 – Better Business Bureau recently honored Turf Valley Resort, a family owned, Howard County business with a 2009 BBB Greater Maryland Torch Award for Marketplace Excellence. The Torch Award pays tribute to businesses that exhibit extraordinarily high standards of honesty and integrity toward customers, employees, shareholders and their community.
"Since 1978, Turf Valley Resort has created an atmosphere that ensures a memorable experience for their guests by encouraging teamwork and mutual respect for and among employees," said Angie Barnett, president & CEO, BBB | Greater Maryland. "At a time when trust is so fragile, the Torch Awards pays homage to a handful of Greater Maryland businesses that have not just talked the talk, but walked the walk on tough business decisions. Those are just the decisions that earn them the respect of their employees, vendors and customers," added Barnett.
Turf Valley Resort was selected to receive the award by a panel of judges including past BBB | Greater MD Torch Award winners and other BBB Accredited Businesses. General Manager, Pete Mangione, accepted the award at a reception sponsored by BBB’s Educational Foundation before a crowd of 200 Maryland business executives.
"We are honored to receive such a prestigious award," says Mangione. "Turf Valley’s staff has worked hard over the last 30 years, to develop a high level of trust among our guests and exceed their expectations in every aspect of our business of hospitality. We value our employees and are proud of the strong work ethic of our entire team that made this award possible."
