Turf Valley to host Three-Day Preakness® Celebration Hot Air Balloon Festival

Ellicott City, Maryland - April 28, 2010 - Turf Valley will once again light up the skies with a jubilant festival to honor the Preakness® Celebration tradition. Turf Valley has been exclusively chosen to celebrate the annual hot air balloon portion of the Preakness festivities. The Preakness® Celebration Hot Air Balloon Festival presented by The Bob Lucido Team REMAX Advantage will be the feature location for the breathtaking Preakness® Celebration Balloon Glow at dusk on both Thursday and Friday, May 13th and 14th, 2010.

The Preakness® Celebration is a week-long tradition of festivities held throughout Maryland to prepare for the running of the 135th Preakness® Stakes. One of the many special events held during the week is the captivating Hot Air Balloon Festival. Approximately twenty hot air balloons, in a unique variety of shapes and colors, will participate in Turf Valley's Balloon Glow. Before the Glow, weather permitting, patrons will have the option to join the pilots in their balloons and take a full flight, or for those less daring, try out a tethered balloon ride. Upon dusk, when all the balloons have returned back to Turf Valley, they will tether and illuminate the night with the "Balloon Glow".

The two-day event will include fun activities for people of all ages, including young children and those young at heart. There will be various children's activities and entertainment throughout the event where children can participate in friendly competitions and creative crafts. *On Saturday, May 15th, the Balloon Festival will culminate in the launching of the balloons at 6:30 A.M., weather permitting.

The Festival is open to the public, and free admission. Tethered balloon rides, Balloon Walk-Thrus and Full Flights are available for a fee. Food and drinks will also be available in the Festival areas. All parking for the event will be held offsite at the Howard County Fairgrounds, with shuttle service.
