Cutting the cake is a complimentary service with our wedding packages. After the ceremonial cut takes place, our staff will take it to the back of the house and cut the rest. We will then serve it to your guests or if you have a variety of flavors, we'll display it so they may choose what they would like.
There are five servers per the first 100 guests and one server per each additional 25 guests thereafter. There is one bartender for every 100 guests. (For example, if you have 150 guests, you will have two bartenders.)
Turf Valley offers several ballrooms in varying sizes to accommodate your reception. We do not offer outdoor cocktail/reception areas. Turf Valley Resort provides comfortable standard banquet chairs that are room specific. If you prefer rental chairs, you may rent them on your own through an outside vendor. Placement and removal are not a service provided by Turf Valley Resort and, therefore, must be coordinated with the vendor. Ask your Catering Account Executive or the Catering Sales Assistant for more information.
We would love to host your ceremony! Turf Valley Resort offers both indoor and outdoor ceremony space in conjunction with your reception. For outdoor ceremonies, we have The Garden, which can accommodate 240 guests. Your ceremony time will be 1 hour, including guest arrival and the ceremony. If you would like assistance planning and overseeing your ceremony, please see our Vendor Directory, as Turf Valley does not provide these services.
The indoor ceremony fee is $1,000, and the outdoor ceremony fee is $1,300. This fee is for renting the space, chair set up, and rehearsal time, which is to be decided 30 days before the event date. In inclement weather, we provide an indoor option for your ceremony at no added charge. Please note, wedding ceremonies may only be booked at Turf Valley Resort combined with a reception as well.
Throwing real flower petals is fine for an outdoor ceremony (if indoors, please have an aisle runner do this). Please note, silk petals, birdseed, and rice may cause a hazard; hence, they are not permitted.

Please note, Turf Valley Resort's check-in time is 4 PM, and check-out time is 11 AM. Requests for an early check-in will only be considered on your arrival time and will be granted on an availability basis.
Each package includes a four-hour open bar, hors d'oeuvres, champagne toast, linens, napkins, banquet chairs, and an overnight stay for the newlyweds on their wedding night, as well as on their first anniversary. Please see our Wedding Packages for the specific meal and bar options.
A taxable service charge of 22% and Maryland State Sales Tax of 6% on food and 9% on alcohol are not included in the package pricing. As applicable, room rental for the Waterford Ballroom, Cameo Ballroom, Wedgewood Room, Terrace on the Green, and ceremony fee is additional, as well.

The Maitre D' is your Turf Valley Resort contact for the day of the event. On the timing of the event schedule, the Maitre D' oversees the staff, ensures the food is hot, and works with the vendors.
